Students raise funds for charity

Students at LVC have raised over £2,370 for the Teenage Cancer Trust by organising a fete and fun run on Saturday 3rd July.

The event, which was planned entirely by students from 9HP tutor group, was inspired by a member of their class who was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2009. The Teenage Cancer Trust helps to build specialist wards at NHS hospitals, improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer.

‘We wanted to raise money for TCT to help young people with cancer to be teenagers again,’ said Georgina McGivern, 14, one of the organisers.

'This was a fantastic effort by the students who worked incredibly hard to make this event a success and raise money for a cause which is close to their hearts,' said 9HP tutor Helena Perry.
