Linton Village

Linton is a thriving village of around 5,000 people on the borders of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk. It is situated within easy reach of the historic university city of Cambridge and close to the market towns of Haverhill, Newmarket and Saffron Walden. The river Granta runs through the centre of the village, which is overlooked by the local landmarks of the water tower and Rivey Hill. It is easy to walk around the village following the Linton Heritage Trail, with notice boards highlighting historic buildings and features. A book about the trail is available in local shops.

Linton has four schools, two churches and a large number of shops. The recent opening of a butcher, baker, greengrocer and coffee shop on the High Street have made it a popular destination for food shopping, with a farmers’ market in the village hall on the first Saturday of every month. The village is also home to Chilford Hall vineyard and conference centre and Linton Zoo.
