Preparing for the future

In Years 10 and 11, students are able to choose courses which develop their strengths and prepare them well for future studies and careers. All students follow a core curriculum including English, maths and science (with combined and separate pathways available), plus the variety of GCSE, OCR Nationals and BTEC courses on offer enables all students to choose more traditional subjects alongside carefully selected vocational courses that allow for challenge and excellence for all.

All students in Years 10 and 11 study the following subjects:

  • English and English Literature
  • Maths
  • Science (Combined or separate biology, chemistry and physics)
  • Physical Education
  • PSE (Personal and Social Education)

In addition, students can choose from the following GCSE (unless indicated) options:

  • Business Studies (OCR National)
  • Computer Science
  • Dance
  • Design & Technology
  • Drama
  • Engineering
  • French
  • Geography
  • Health & Social Care (Cambridge Nationals)
