Educational Visits
Residential and Day Trips
LVC are delighted to offer our students both residential and day trips as part of their studies. These trips aim to extend the learning of curriculum work in addition to developing transferable skills such as teamwork, independent learning, research and many more.
Students taking GCSE Geography have visited Snowdonia and undertaken fieldwork at the Olympic Park, Stratford and studied coastal erosion in Essex. GCSE Art students have visited the Tate Modern and the Fitzwilliam Museum. GCSE Drama and Dance students get the chance to visit a theatre and write a review. The MfL department offers numerous trips to develop both language and cultural experiences, for example trips to Paris & Barcelona. Members of the Symphonic Wind Orchestra have performed concert tours in Italy, Spain and Croatia.
During Enrichment Week, which occurs in June each year, Year 9 students are all offered the experience of a residential trip. Recent residentials have visited The Peak District, Wales and London. In 2024, in addition to residentials in the UK, we are also offering an International residential to Greece and Southwest France.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
1. Students approaching the end of Years 9 and 10 can join the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, gaining their Bronze Award through community service, volunteering and camping expeditions in the UK. This is a really valuable experience-based programme.
