Preparing for the future

In Years 10 and 11, students are able to choose courses which develop their strengths and prepare them well for future studies and careers. All students follow a core curriculum including English, maths and science (with combined and separate pathways available). A variety of GCSE courses and Cambridge Nationals enable all students to choose more traditional subjects alongside carefully selected vocational courses that allow for challenge and excellence for all.

All students in Years 10 and 11 study the following subjects:

  • English Language and English Literature
  • Mathematics
  • Science (Combined or separate biology, chemistry and physics)
  • Physical Education
  • PSE (Personal and Social Education)

In 2025-2026, students chose from the following GCSE courses and Cambridge Nationals. The courses on offer are confirmed as part of the options process for year 9 students in the spring.
